I am a licensed Marriage, Family Therapist with 27 years of experience in clinics, schools and private practice settings. I received my masters degree in Clinical Psychology and Marriage Family Child Counseling from Antioch University, after receiving my undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley.
My experience includes:
- Marriage & relationship therapy
- Treatment of anxiety, depression, and mood disorders
- Child therapy
- Parenting effectiveness training
- Handling of life transitions
- Adjusting to divorce and co-parenting
- Grief, trauma and abuse counseling
- Stress reduction
I enjoy working with people of all ages, both in individual therapy and in couples and family counseling. In addition to my work with adults, I have substantial experience in treating children. This began with my work for the Linden Center, a school for emotionally disturbed children. I have served as the Clinical Director of a state-funded Healthy Start Project in two elementary schools with high-risk children who were impacted by trauma, violence and poverty in their community. I was a Clinical Supervisor for twelve years including seven at Hillsides Family Center, an agency that focused on abused and neglected children and their family members and foster parents. My work included supervision of many interns training to become therapists.
